Your subconscious mind will only accept positive phrases or words. You may believe that the phrase, "I will not eat those foods that are fattening" is a positive one, but your mind will only take in "I will eat those foods that are fattening". Your subconscious removes the negative "not".
Conflict in your subconscious mind commences when you start to say no to it, or use other negative words. Your conscious mind may accept it, but your subconscious cannot accept anything that is negative as it does not know what to do with it, and thus ignores it.
"I will not eat those foods that are fattening" is a phrase that only reinforces your mind with "I will eat those foods that are fattening".
You can clearly see therefore that it is essential that you only pick words and phrases that your subconscious can focus on. The use of negative words will only be ignored by your mind and cause unnecessary conflict.
When creating self hypnosis scripts, there are two basic principles to remember, and are vital to creating and choosing the right self hypnosis script for you.
Firstly, you must say the script in a way which makes it evident that you have reached your goal as per the examples below -
"I'm confident about my work" instead of "I want to become confident".
"My memory is sharp" instead of "I want to make my memory sharp".
"I am successful in my ventures" instead of "I will be successful in my ventures"
In essence it is essential that you state the desired outcome and goal.
Secondly it is important that you say the scripts in a manner that makes your subconscious take in the fact that you are progressing towards your goal -
"My body is releasing pain"
"I'm getting better day by day"
"I'm feeling comfortable around others"
Progression is important, and as you tell your mind that you are progressing so the changes you want will become more noticeable.
